Building Description:
The Nicholas Tower is a 21 storey office building located at Independence Square, Port of Spain. The building is 102 (including mast) meters high and is supported on 357 prestressed concrete piles. It consists of a four-storey podium occupying the entire site from which springs another 16 stories of curved glazed tower placed diagonally across the site. The structure consists of structural steel framing supporting composite steel profiled decking (75mm deep), with 75mm minimum concrete infill/topping fitted with a sprinkler system. This Tower has been designed for the most up-to-date structural engineering standards relevant at the time of design
